What is this 1, 2 step you speak of?

Usually when I go any where in my car alone I blast the music. I have gotten so used to burning cds for driving that I have somewhat strayed away from mainstream music listening. One night my softbook (a little computer that holds all my paper route information) was blocking my cd player in my car. Being the safety nerd that I am, I decided not to fiddle with it while I was driving. I turned on the radio and...well was pretty much disappointed. I did flip to one station that is playing a lot of great music. They play new, old, and a lot of nobody's. They play mostly rock or alternative music. I turned the dial again...and let's just say my booty is hearing the ghetto calling...

The hip hop and r& b station here has been playing a lot of music I really like. I'm not really into rap and r&b, that's the surprising part of it. The dj's make my grammar radar go berserk, but other than that I'm really digging it. I really like Eminem's Mockingbird. I think it's a very sweet song to his daughter. I 'm confused about this one, two step though. What the hell is that? Am I really getting that old? I mean back in my day it was the electric slide. Well...that pretty much says it I guess. There are at least two songs I know of that mention it. One of them is by Ciara and Missy Elliott and the other is 50 Cent I believe. I have to admit though even if I knew what the one, two step was I'm not sure I could look cool doing it.

I always try to keep an open mind when it comes to music. Michael usually does too, but the other night he got into my car at the paper route. He turns on the radio and the rap station is blaring. He looked at me like he just saw Shirley Temple (Whom I'm pretty sure is the devil, but that's another post) being deflowered. He said, "?!? What the fuck are you listening to in here?!?" How am I supposed to tell him to spill some for the homies?

Really, I don't think that you have to convey the image of a gangsta to enjoy the great hooks of Eminem or the creative music of Missy Elliott. If you can shake any part of your body to it, go for it. I must look kind of stupid rocking out in my polo sweatshirt to The Game and 50 Cent. It's a far cry from Kasabian and Louis XIV.

Slide, Slide, Slipity, Slide...ehhem...I mean watch me as I one, two step...:P
