Update...on everyday bullshit.
I didn't have time for blogging much this last week, sorry about that. There were lots of things that happened, here are the updates:
Sam: Sam arrived on Wednesday evening with his dad. On Thursday I took his dad sight seeing while Sam rested and started to get settled. When we got done sight seeing Joe (Sam's dad) offered to cook dinner. Being that I cook all the time I was thrilled to have the night off. He made homemade chicken eggrolls. They were so yummy. Friday I loaned Joe my car so he could do some quick sight seeing on his own. When he came back he insisted that he take us to dinner. Since we all know what kind of father I have, I indulged Joe. It was nice to be spoiled a little. I reassured Joe that Sam would be just fine and we had a great time. He just left this morning.
My dad's birthday: It came and went. Michael accidently forgot to send the mail out, so my card just got mailed yesterday. It was an accident, but it really upset me, given the state of my relationship with my dad. I had no choice but to call him. I got his answering machine. I left a cheery birthday message and that was the end of it. I haven't talked to him since before Christmas. He hasn't called me and I haven't called him. I kept waiting for him to call on Christmas, but he called after the new year to wish me a Merry Christmas on my cell phone's voicemail. Guess that's the end of this update.
My mom: OMG! That's pretty much all I can say. After dumping her paper route on me and months of endless complaining about money, she somehow bought a house. Yeah, she's so fucking poor she bought a 2200 sq. ft. house. Hehehehe (evil Nina) it's still not as nice as mine. She also went to Laughlin ( the older people's Vegas) for four days and had a commitment ceremony with her current girlfriend. They already had a little ceremony. I'm wondering how many times I'm going to have to celebrate their union. It's already been two times. Not that my mom is really gay, but if you were going to get married wouldn't you go to a state that makes it legal like Vermont? So if they ever make it legal that will be three. Man, I'm getting tired of celebrating her. I just don't see how she's able to afford everything considering she told me she took the paper route because they needed food. Why do I continue to let myself get hoodwinked by her. Moving on...
My birthday and the paper: I decided to keep the watch and ring. I'll figure it out and Michael will just have to not be hurt by the frequency in which I wear my new or old items. My birthday is Tuesday the 8th. I'm going to be 28. Last year at this time we were closing on our first house. I can't believe it's already been one year. I am so proud of us. I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful place to live. We worked really hard for it and I'm here to tell you it was worth every cent. I also am hoping that the Tuesday morning paper will be the last edition of the paper I deliver. I technically still have more time on my notice, but there is a guy really interested in taking my route right away. So cross your fingers for me.
Plans for tonight: Last weekend we went over to Buffy and Derek's for pizza and wings. We got to talking and decided that we were going to have a movie night once a week. This first round is each persons favorite/most influential film ever. Each person has to pick their favorite movie and prepare dinner/snacks that relate to the movie we watch. Buffy is going first. I can't wait to see what she picked.
Well that's it for now. I hope you all have a great weekend:P
