Accents....

Have you ever noticed how much cooler things are when they are said by someone with a foreign accent. For example, isn't it cool those wacky Brits say rubber instead of eraser? Unfortunately my choices of languages to learn in school were only French, Spanish, or German. I chose German. German is not a sexy language. It's powerful, but not sexy. French seemed like a cop out, and well Spanish just didn't interest me. Anyway the point is when something is foreign it just seems sexier...

I can't do any accents at all. My claim to fame on that front (I'm sorry to say) is my mentally retarded voice. How un p.c. of me. Michael is pretty good at accents, but he's no Mike Meyers. I got to thinking though, and well it's not really just the accent. It's the difference in terminology.

I am very perplexed by the word spunk. I mean who thought that up? That doesn't sound particularly sexy. Actually it's just fun to say. He's gonna spread his spunk all over you...that sounds like a terminology you would use when trash talking at a sporting event. I have actually heard someone say "Hey girl, you are looking charp." I mean I know it's not right for me to be pointing these things out, but I wonder....do they know how they sound? It's not just foreign people either. I hate it when people refer to themselves in derogatory terms. How would you feel if I said, " Make this honkey a drink."

I don't know what the point of this post is really. I guess that I just like the word spunk.
