What do normal people do on the weekend?
Well after a typical weekend I am left asking myself what the fuck did I do? It seems like all week long I am thinking about the weekend. I think of three things: what I should do, what I want to do, and what do other people do.
I have this feeling that normal people go to peach festivals and walk for breast cancer. I on the other hand am thinking about vacuuming my drapes. What is wrong with this picture? By the way, that is what I should do. Then I think I would really like to go up to Vegas, but that seems like too much for a weekend. Next I think about exercising. I could ride 25 miles on my mountain bike and then go out for breakfast. Wait. I'm supposed to do something fun with Michael. Hmm. Going to the post office just isn't exciting as it used to be. What do normal people do?
So, here's what we did.
Friday: 1. Had sex when Michael got home.
2. Went to the grocery for chicken.
3. Watched the Olympics
Saturday: 1. Went to the salon (Michael=haircut) (Oddgirl=waxing)
2. Michael went to see his friend Mike (Oddgirl watched forensic shows)
3. Cleaned the master bathroom and did all the laundry
Sunday: 1.Walked 3.27 miles (shoot me-while Michael slept in)
2. Ate breakfast at Queen Creek Cafe
3. Cleaned the house for our friend Mike to come over
4. Cooked all the stuff for a bbq
5. Watched Kill Bill 1&2 with our company
6. Typed my blog (Michael on fifth hour of PS2 game)
Is this normal? I mean besides so much t.v? We usually don't watch quite so much of the tube. I mean isn't there something to do? If there was would I choose to do it? Would Michael want to do it with me? Probably not. I can't see him getting excited about going to the farmer's market. I tried to talk him into home improvement projects, but he's so pooped from school and work. I think it's more like work than fun for him. We are so different we have a hard time agreeing on activities some times. My planned weekend at this point is exercise by myself, do my own thing, then meet up with Michael.
I always see people doing what seems to be an exciting and plausible activity on their weekends. Are they just fronting? Do they think about vacuuming their drapes? What the hell do you people do on the weekends?
I think Ebert and Roper would give us two thumbs down on this one.
