My gulity pleasure...perfume

So I'm to the point now where my perfume collection will no longer fit in the little bag I have it in. I keep it under my bathroom sink. There isn't much space under there to pull them all out, plus I wouldn't want to break any. Michael and I don't have a dresser, we have an amoire, so there's no place to set my perfume out. Michael suggested we purchase a little wall rack for them. I don't know though. I don't think I want them all out in the open. What if I break one? So we need to think of a way to store them, but still have relatively easy access to them. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? What's that? You want to know what lovely fragrances are in my collection? Say no more...

I know it's a lot but I have been collecting since 1990. I used part of my first Burger King pay check to purchase the Safari. I'm not sure how I even started collecting. I'm not the type of person that wears an assload of perfume either. I think perfume is meant for someone who is in your own personal space. That could be when I hug someone goodbye or maybe when someone is kissing my neck. It's a travesty you see, most people who hate perfume hate it because someone they know bathes in it. It is supposed to be a compliment to your body chemistry, not a deodrant.

On that note, not every perfume I like smells good on me. Lots of times I will smell and think damn that smells awesome. I'll spray some on, and uck...it just doesn't smell good on me. The reverse is true also. The best tip I can give is to try the perfume on your skin and leave it be for an hour or so. The fragrance will open up and you will smell the true smell. Then you can determine whether or not it's right for you. Also storing your perfumes is very important. You want to keep them out of heat and light. They last longer and maintain the orignal scent.

In France they have a job called "Le Nez". It translates to "The Nose". What a fun job that would be. It takes knowledge of chemistry and all sorts of academic requirements. I also read that most "noses" are quized on their enjoyment of food. Cooking contains a lot of the same principals as being a nose....hmmmm new career field??? I doubt I'd have to lift an 80 qt. mixer full of dough...

Anyway, I throughly enjoy collecting such wonderful perfume. As you can see as I have matured so has my nose. I started out with very common scents and have graduated to more of a complex bouquet. I enjoy finding a not so popular (at least in the states) perfume that is perfect for me. It's like finding my own buried treasure.

This probably isn't the most exciting post, but it's something that I enjoy other than baseball...:)
