Quit judging everything but the art ,you assholes.

Well I haven't been blogging lately because I have been busy with the art show. Yesterday was the first day that I saw the art gallery. There were several interesting works of art. It is what you would expect out of a community art league. The booth I am working at the Pumpkin Festival is composed of two artists, Lynn Loss and Haley McNeil. Lynn specializes in acrylic paints. Most of her designs are floral in nature. Haley is an artist in all mediums. She is undoubtedly very talented but without a website at this time.

When we looked at the map to see where our both would be located we were surprised to find ourselves shoved in a corner. The senior members of the art league appeared to be hoarding the space. My idea of a community art league is a place where all artists, of all skill levels, and all mediums gather to celebrate all art. Apparently it is where some gather to do the above and others gather to celebrate their own art and themselves. Here in this tiny art league lies judgment and self promotion above all else. I say welcome people and quit judging.

This judging reminds me of my transformation in college. I was transformed from a preppie girl to a punk. I really enjoyed punk music in college and I thought I wanted to learn a little more about punk philosophy. The idea is that all are welcome into punk society as long as you love the music and ideals. The truth is like any other clique you have to look right, speak right, and rock right. I found myself alone in my own punk world. I still think punk rock kicks ass, however I don't want to belong to any group who judges people solely on shit characteristics. So fuck you Bloomington, Indiana punk rockers. Also a big screw you to some of the art league.

Haley and I set up the booth yesterday. The art league that was shoving them in the very corner screwed themselves. The sponsors built a human funnel into the room. The funnel ends exactly at our booth. So here's to Haley and Lynn, and hoping I sell enough to shove dollar bills up the rest of the leagues pompous asses.

Be nice. Judge people on what kind of person they are and nothing else.
