Playin' hooky

Well, I called in sick today. I really did feel sick, so it wasn't like I planned to play hooky. I spent the day listening to Court TV while laying on my ass. It was wonderful....just what I needed.

In the afternoon, Michael and I went for a walk/jog. I jogged a lot further than I thought I could. It was freakin' hard. I don't understand people who love to run...I guess the thrill is getting across the finish line? Anyway, it's been helpful to exercise with him.

We just finished making dinner together and surprise...I've found some time to blog. :) Work has been super busy for me and I believe I am going to be promoted here in a few weeks. Adjusting to working with so many females has been hard. I seriously feel like I am high school with all the drama that goes on. I don't understand how people's lives can be so empty that they have to talk shit about other people. My god...it's depressing. I thought that my gender had made such great strides....

I have made a really good friend at work, Karen. Michael, Karen, and I have been hiking every Friday after work and then going out for dinner and cocktails. I really enjoy her company and she helps remind me that there are intelligent and witty women out there. She's married, but her husband works nights, so I haven't even met him yet.

We got a new computer a few weeks ago...YAY...it's not working the way it should...BOO. I love our monitor though. Michael bought us a 21 inch flat screen that rotates 90 degrees....it's awesome.

I feel awful...Michael's IPOD (a.k.a. the love of his life) is not working. He bought me one for Christmas and I'm thinking of giving it to him or purchasing another one for his birthday. I loves that damn thing.

I'm officially the good DIL (Daughter-in-law). Michael's mom sent me the coolest tea infuser for no reason. :) I love it when stuff like that happens. My birthday went over swell. Michael the romantic showed up at my work with white tulips. The tulips were in the vase he had given me on my nineteenth birthday. It made me teary-eyed. I can't believe we have been together for over ten years. My god....

Ohhhh...I started going to Kung Fu with Michael. I'm the only girl in the class. I really like doing the forms. I'm not so much into the fighting, but I love Tai Chi...it's so relaxing. If I was going to fight, I think grappling is for me. I started Tan Tui this last week. Man, that is an incredible upper body workout....and I've only done line one.

We tried to hike camelback mountain last Friday and I thought I was going to die. I swear I saw about 65 ninjas wearing speedos on that mountain. I made it about 3/4 ths of the way up and had to turn back....which pissed me the hell off. I hate giving in, but my knee was killing me and I began to get really dizzy and light headed. If you know anything about the area...you know what I mean. For fuck's sake it has several railings embedded in the rock because it's practically vertical. Not my kind of hike....but the mountain can not win. I will go back and kick its ass...just for kicking mine.

I guess that's all for now. I hope all you bloggers are doing well. I miss ya. :)
