Where have I been?
Sorry my blogging has been so sporadic. I was thinking of trying out myspace instead, but I'm rather fond of my blog. So I'm still not sure what I am going to do. In any case it's obvious that I have not kept up with my blog like I have wanted to since I started my new job. I'm still hoping I may remedy that, but only time will tell.
What has happened?
Simply put....life. I have been working my fingers to the bone trying to get last minute overtime in so I can buy my family great gifts this year for Christmas. I haven't had anytime to myself really, but I know it will come.
Michael and I headed home for Thanksgiving and it was a lot better than I had anticipated. We had a wonderful visit with his family. Indiana is butt cold though and I don't fancy going back in the winter again.
My mom has moved back to Indiana and rented her house to a crazy Mormon couple I know. Hopefully, things will work out and she'll be back in Arizona in a year.
Michael surprised me this week and painted our family and dining room. It looks beautiful. We are working on several home improvement projects lately. I'm really excited because we are finally getting our backyard done. When my mom left she let us borrow her outdoor fireplace and porch swing. So I'm looking forward to enjoying those things....speaking of which...
Did you know they made colored logs with "crackle"? My god I hate to think of what chemical I'm inhaling...but blue flames are sooooo cool!
Things around friends have been depressing lately. One set of our friends is in the process of divorce, another is moving away, and a few have just stopped talking to us all together. I don't seem to understand, but I'm trying.
Truffle season is upon us and Michael and I are off to get some supplies and do a little shopping. I have my lights hung up (which is my favorite part) but there are still a lot of preparations to be made.
This Christmas everyone seems to have lost their spirit and I'm trying to hang on to mine. I really don't even feel like making the truffles, but I don't want to disappoint. So I'm buckling down and doing Santa's work. I hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday season.
