What a week....
Well...I'm back. Sorry I missed half-nekkid Thursday, I decided to stay an extra day in Vegas. Just to kill the suspense....I didn't win anything in the Let it Ride tournament, however...It was one helluva trip.
Monday: Drove up to Vegas listening to that damn Gwen Stefani CD. I now can recite all the words to hollaback girl....my life has meaning. Arrived in Vegas and registered for the tournament. I decided to play in the second session at 11:30...just in case I was too hung over to make the 10:00 round. At 8:00 p.m there was a reception where they would explain the rules and answer any questions. As I waited in the hall for the doors to ballroom b to open a middle aged Korean man approached me. He wanted to know how a teenager got into the Let it ride tournament. This was the beginning of a very one-sided friendship, but before you worry I was a complete lady...I let him down easy. There was a problem though...he wouldn't take no for an answer. Looking to get out of sitting at a table with him I darted to a table that already had two people at it. Then yet another middle-aged man sat down, Everet. Everet was nice enough and he seemed harmless so I talked to him. After the session was over we met up again at the tables. I also met two other ladies, Jackie and Tammy. I ended up spending the entirety of my stay in Vegas hanging with them. I lost $100 very quickly so I had a few cocktails and went to bed.
Tuesday: I decided to go down and watch Jackie and Everet play, they were in the 10:00 session. I thought it might calm my nerves. Before I knew it 11:30 was there. So I sat down at my table and Let it Ride. They gave me $5000 in chips and I had to bet a minimum of $100 per spot(there are three spots in a hand). They took the top two people from the first round. I unfortunately finished third and to make it a little more insulting the second place finisher only had me by a few hundred dollars. It was funny and nerve racking at the same time. After the first round I had the day to do whatever I wanted with. Jackie, Tammy, Everet, and I went downtown. I had heard that Binion's Horseshoe was the place for blackjack. We all found something to play and had a great time. Jackie suggested we go to The Orleans to get something to eat, so we did. After a while it was apparent that Everet only really wanted to spend time with me and it started to scare me. We ended up back at the Hilton where Jackie proceeded to get a fucking four of a kind on Let it Ride. She won $1400! I was so thrilled for her. Everet got pissed at me for spending too much time with the two woman, so that was pretty much the end of Everet. So we decided to get rid of the negative energy and go to the Rio. Wow, I have never seen that many half naked people in one place. Again, I was in fear of losing the remaining gambling money I had because I still had three full days left in Vegas, so I had a
Wednesday: Tammy, Jackie and I went to a breakfast buffet where I totally broke my diet and had chocolate cake for breakfast. I can't tell you how much ass it kicks to have fucking cake for breakfast. Jackie was eliminated from the tournament but she got drawn as a wildcard. We spent most of the day cheering her on. It must have helped because she ended up placing in the tournament. She won another $1000. She was so sweet and thoughtful she tried to give me a hundred for cheering for her. I just couldn't take it. From then on I didn't pay for a single meal. Jackie wouldn't hear of it. Later that night we played at the tables and son of a bitch if I didn't get a full house! I won $440! I was in shock, I hadn't realized I had a full house. I only knew I had a pair of jacks. I had forgotten what my two other cards were...too many cape cods I guess. Jackie went to bed and Tammy and I decided to go out on the town. We rode the monarail and went to a few casinos. And cape cod sums up the rest of the night.
Thursday: I was going to leave, but Jackie and Tammy insisted that I stay. We were having way too much fun. So I did. We went to the Rio again for a buffet. Holy shit that is the largest, quality buffet I have ever seen. I could have sat there and ate for the whole fucking day. But instead I played in a slot tournament. I have never been in one so I thought, "Why not?" I got a stuffed crab just for signing up. The drunker I got the more obnoxious I got with crab jokes....like," I went to Vegas and I got fucking crabs." Yeah, I thought I was funny. I came close to placing in the slot tournament, but then again I am a born loser. So then I saw some live/electronic roulette. The have a live wheel with dealers and cameras, but you get your own little board, so there's no pushing to get your chips on the number. I loved it and I was on fire...at least for a while. Jackie went back to the hotel and then Tammy and I caught a cab downtown. I learned how to play Crazy 4 poker and I got dealt an assload of straights at three card poker. I got tipsy and ended up in bed around 3.
Friday: We met up in the morning to say our goodbyes, plan a trip to Laughlin with another couple we met, and exchange information. They wanted to take me out for breakfast again at the Rio, but I was afraid I would hit rush hour traffic here in the third ring of hell, so I declined. I got in my car and Gwen and I made it home in one piece. I had an excellent fucking time, but was excited to see Michael....yep....I missed the bastard. So he came home and I showed him my crabs.
