Sharing a suitcase...

I hate packing. The only thing I hate worse than packing is carrying the suitcase. I think I use to be an over packer. I suppose it depends on where I am traveling. Now days I would say I am a light packer. Michael and I typically share a suitcase and if we need nice clothes we will take the garment bag. I never take a carry on item that can't fit into my average sized purse. I think I am an oddity. So what gives?

As you all know the last destination was Las Vegas. I swear to god Michael packed twice as much as me. I am a strategic packer. Michael usually carries the bags on account of my back so I want to make it as easy as possible for him. Since I have traveled to Vegas before I already knew the extra weird things I was going to need to pack.

In Vegas everything you wear will get smoky. I have a tendency to get cold, so I pack at least three hoodie type jackets or sweatshirts. I can't wear it again after it has been infected with smoke. This is the only destination so far where I need to do this. Here is a list of my basic suitcase contents:

Two pairs of good jeans(I wore one on the way up)
One pair of bad jeans
Four pairs of socks (two white, two black)
Five pair of underwear
Two bras( I wore one on the way up)
One pair of pj's
One pair tennis shoes ( I wore my dress shoes)
Three t-shirts
One dress shirt
Three hoodies(I wore one on the way up there)
One long sleeved shirt(I wore that on the way up there too)
One hairdryer
One hairbrush
One toothbrush
One tube toothpaste( Shared with Michael)
One can deodorant
One hairband
One very small make-up bag(smaller than a zip-lock bag & only half full)
One travel sized shampoo
One travel sized conditioner
One bed pillow
One cell phone charger
One small bag of qtips( shared with Michael)

Here is what Michael packed:

Three pairs of jeans (one good, two bad)
One pair of slacks
Two pair of shorts
Two dress shirts
Four t-shirts
Two sleeveless shirts
Two belts
One hoodie
Four pairs of shoes
One cell phone charger
One toothbrush
One stick of deodorant
One bottle of cologne
One bag of comics (contained several)
One container of hair paste
Six pair of socks
??pair of underwear
??pj's

So what do you think? Did I pack too much? Am I the overloader?

He always complains that the suitcase is so heavy. I personally don't think it's me. I think even if I have more items they are small, compact, and light. I think the fact that we use the suitcase he got for graduation from high school isn't helping. It was before those adjustable handle suitcases came out. I think I am going to have to break down and buy one. I don't want to take the blame for the overloading when it's clearly not me.

Aren't I the one who is supposed to be the suitcase hog? What's up with this? In any case I am usually glad we shared it's less stuff to wash when we get home. I can't imagine what he would pack if he had is own suitcase and I don't want to. As it was when we left we had to take a trashbag with us because we couldn't get it all back into the suitcase. I wonder what will happen this weekend.

***Just a little side note***
He forgot his razor and a few other things too. I think it helped being around my sisters too. They packed everything but the kitchen sink. I mean there were hot rollers, curling irons, several changes of clothing. Just about everything you can think of.
