Same old....same old....
I started the paper again. It's only for nine days, a good cause, and lots o' dough. My friend, John, is separated from his wife. She lives in CA, with her mother and his son. Today is his son's birthday. He wanted to go really bad and you just know what a sucker I am....so I'm stuck with his very rural route. I don't mind too terribly much. I feel like I'm helping out.
No one took me out again this weekend. I think it's excusable this time. We were all really tired from doing the paper. As usual, we watched several movies from Netflix. Here is the review (I know you're dying to hear my opinion):
Trekkies: Where do I begin? OMG, I have to tell you I feel much better about myself for some reason. It was fascinating to see the depth of knowledge about Star Trek. I was a little frightened by some of the people, especially this poor fourteen year old kid. He's never going to get laid....poor guy. I have to say it was entertaining enough to hold my attention. I was gawking, but it had my attention none the less. I guess I would give it one thumb. It's definitely for die hard Star Trek fans or snarky bitches like myself.
Three O'Clock High: A thumb and a half. A great eighties movie. It's one of the only movies I can remember that doesn't pit the brother and sister against each other. A good movie for a laugh and you definitely won't strain yourself trying to pay attention. A lazy Sunday movie.
Dawn of the Dead (2004): One thumb. I liked the updated zombies. I thought it showed some promise. There were lots of stupid things I caught in the movie, but I'm a nit picker, so you'll probably enjoy it. It didn't scare me at all, until I had to do the paper route by myself at 3:00 in the morning. I was waiting for one to jump out and kill me....wishful thinking?
The Chase: A horrible movie. I give it a fourth of a thumb. I love Henry Rollins, that's the only reason why. Don't watch it. Save yourself!
That concludes my movie activities. This weekend was no different than any other. Funny, Easter has always been an overlooked holiday in my house. Michael and I started talking about our families Easter traditions. He had such a better childhood at home than I did. I'm happy for that. My mom did use to hide muffin cups with jelly beans in them all around the apartment. Sometimes there would even be a hollow chocolate bunny. I guess it was the best she could do. She loves jelly beans, unfortunately I do not. I think it's o.k. we never really celebrated Easter. I mean I would feel like such a hypocrite. Oh....anyway....to the sweet part.
My little neighbor across the street brought me and Michael over some little treats. He brought us some kind of little debbie snack, a mini carton of bubble gum eggs, and an egg he dyed and did art on for us. I just love our neighbors....have I mentioned that?
Anyway....I guess it's about time for me to go to bed. I hope you all had great weekends and Easters. :)
